Dave Herman – Failed Drug Test Reason for Pulling Out, Denies Using Marijuana

Heavyweight Strikeforce import, Dave Herman has confirmed the reason he withdrew from his UFC 136 bout with Mike Russow: testing positive for the banned substance, marijuana, a substance he denies any use of.

Herman, speaking via MMAFighting.com, said:

“I’m still trying to figure it out myself. Basically, they said I failed my drug test. I went in to get my drug test. A week later, they called and said they lost my urine specimen and I had to come back in and redo it. And I came back in and they said I failed it. It’s impossible. I don’t even smoke. I haven’t even had a beer in two months.”

Herman made his octagon debut taking on dangerous submission artist, Jon Olav Einemo in Vancouver, Canada. After a back and forth affair Herman scored the knock down and was able to finish the fight via TKO.
