Strikeforce heavyweight grand-prix finalist, Daniel Cormier has confirmed that he’s broken his right hand following this past weekends semi-final bout with Antonio “Big Foot” Silva in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will be out for between six and eight weeks.

Cormier, posting via his Twitter account, said:

“Just got done seeing doctor. Hand is broken [and I] will be on the shelf for a while. Still looking forward to finishing the tourney. Thanks for the support.”

Cormier will have until the first quarter of 2012 to heal his hand in time to take on Josh Barnett in the finals of the heavyweight grand-prix tournament.
