Dana White on Georges St-Pierre: “I know for a fact he will return”

Despite Georges St-Pierre saying that the UFC’s stance on their drug testing program was at least partially the reason that he is taking a hiatus, UFC President Dana White continues to argue that it has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

Dana White said this regarding the matter:

“That’s not why he’s gone, He’s not gone because of TRT or any of that stuff. He’s gone because he had personal problems that he needed to deal with. A lot of that stuff got blown out of proportion. He’s gone because of the reason he sat down with me and Lorenzo that night and told us.”

White still believes St-Pierre will be back, and though it’s not great to have their top draw out right now, White expressed his excitement with the rest of the 170 lb. field trying to take his place.

“I know for a fact he will [return], Is it fun for Georges St-Pierre to be gone? I mean, no, I wouldn’t say that it’s fun for him to be gone. But the welterweight division is exciting right now, and when Georges does come back, whoever’s standing there, it will be a fun fight.”
