Dana White: “Royce Gracie thinks he can beat Matt Hughes. He wants that fight again.”

UFC President, Dana White has revealed that legendary Brazilian mixed martial artist, Royce Gracie wants a rematch with long time welterweight champion, Matt Hughes when the promotion returns to Brazil on August 27th.

White, speaking via MMAJunkie.com, said:

“[Royce] thinks that his performance against Matt Hughes wasn’t what not what it could have been, and thinks he can beat Matt Hughes. He wants that fight again.”

Gracie hasn’t fought since June 2007 when he defeated Japanese legend, Kazushi Sakuraba at K-1 Dynamite USA in a rematch of their 2000 PRIDE grand prix battle. Hughes defeated Gracie in the bout prior to that, pounding him out to win the fight via TKO.
