A middleweight face off pinning American MMA legend, Dan Henderson against the powerhouse of the division, Tim Boetsch was revealed today to be the new headlining match for the UFC Fight Night 68 card set for June 6th in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The UFC released the news overnight. Light heavyweight, Ryan Bader, was pulled from the card after his opponent, Daniel Cormier was moved to the UFC 187 card.
Henderson is coming off back-to-back losses after his past four-fight winning streak in 2010-11. After three fights with Strikeforce, he came back with the light heavyweight title, and returned to the UFC to face Mauricio Rua in a “Fight of the Year” at UFC 139.
Boetsch hasn’t had a winning streak since 2012 and has alternated wins and losses his past four fights, including a split call over C.B. Dollaway and a TKO of Brad Tavares. Just a month ago at UFC 183 he submitted to Thales Leites and one “Fight of the Night” for it.
