DaMarques Johnson Released By The UFC After Ten Fights Inside The Octagon

Always exciting welterweight, DaMarques Johnson has been released from the UFC just days after his latest defeat at the hands of promotional newcomer, Gunnar Nelson.

The “The Ultimate Fighter 9? runner-up confirmed the news via Twitter. His release follows a three-fight losing streak, with the latest coming on late notice.

Johnson (16-12 MMA, 4-6 UFC) never went to a decision in ten career UFC fights. He took the Gunnar Nelson fight at UFC on FUEL 5 on just twelve days notice. The bout ended with a first-round rear-naked choke loss, and came just 56 days after a violent knockout loss to Mike Swick.
