Czech heavyweight, Karlos Vemola debuts against Jon Madsen at UFC 116

The UFC has signed a four-fight deal with U.K.-based heavyweight and undefeated Czech heavyweight, Karlos Vemola (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Vemola will debut against H.I.T. Squad member and “Ultimate Fighter” season ten cast member, Jon Madsen (5-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) at UFC 116 on July 3rd in Las Vegas, NV.

The news was confirmed by YouTube/Twitter account, WHOA TV.

Fighters Only reports the heavyweight shares a long-running beef with current UFC heavyweight James McSweeney after he was forced to drop out of a proposed fight between the two. Vermola made a few derogatory comments about McSweeney to fuel the fire.

McSweeney, responding again via the WHOA TV channel, said:

“Don’t talk on the Internet and say silly things that are disrespectful because we are all fighters here and you [should show] respect. Its done certain ways, go through the right [channels] ask to fight people and then when the contracts have been signed and the money is being paid then we can all fight and we can all learn out of it. Until then just shut up.”

McSweeney thoughts on the Czech signing with the promotion:

“The UFC do steroid and drug tests, eye tests… he has got to look into how clean he has got to be before he fights for them. I am completely natural… he has got to ask himself the same thing. I would love to fight him, let’s see.”
