Cruz Out Of Title Fight, Barao vs. Faber || For Bantamweight Title

Dominick Cruz hasn’t been the luckiest so far in 2014, UFC President Dana White announced Monday that after being sidelined since late-2011 with a knee injury, Cruz has fell injury to a groin tear, forcing him out of his UFC 169 main event in New Jersey against interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao.

After this string to bad luck, Cruz has chosen to vacate his title, and Urijah Faber will go face to face against Barao for the second time to fight for the bantamweight, title on February 1 at the Prudential Center in Newark.

In the UFC 169 co-main event, Jose Aldo defends his featherweight crown against Ricardo Lamas.
