Court McGee forced out of UFC 131 bout with Jesse Bongfeldt due to a knee injury

TUF 12 winner, Court McGee has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 131 bout with Jesse Bongfeldt due to a torn ACL, the fight was set to take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 11th, 2011. McGee had been looking to build on the impressive come-from-behind victory over Ryan Jensen this past October, which marked his first fight since winning the hit reality show. With the time frame before their second trip to Vancouver it is very likely the promotion will seek a replacement opponent for Bongfeldt.

Chris Weidman has verbally agreed to meet the Canadian striker, the pair agreed to the fight in the past 24 hours with bout agreements set to be distributed shortly.

Weidman is no stranger to stepping up at short notice, taking on Alessio Sakara on just over a weeks notice on the UFC on Versus 3 card last month taking a unanimous decision victory with him.
