Costas Philippou Has Retired From The UFC

Earlier this week fans noticed that Costas Philippou was missing from the UFC’s rankings, he was ranked 12th in the middleweight division previously. Usually it could be due to numerous reasons including expired contract, failed drug test, being released outright, or retirement. UFC VP of Public Relations Dave Sholler quickly confirmed that Philippou has retired, ending the speculation.

He tweeted the following in response to a fan question:

“@mookiealexander he has indicated to UFC that he has retired. That should end the speculation for you.”

Philippou leaves the sport with a record of 13 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no-contest, with a 6-4 mark in the UFC.
