Cole Escovedo steps up against Renan Barao at UFC 130 in Las Vegas, Nevada

At UFC 130 in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 28th, former WEC featherweight champion, Cole Escovedo will step in to replace, Renan ‘Barao’ Pegado’s former opponent, Demetrious Johnson who stepped in for the injured Brad Pickett against Miguel Torres.

Escovedo was on a five fight win streak until he lost back-to-back fights to Michael McDonald and Michihiro Omigawa. He was last seen in January submitting Steven Siler via triangle choke at at Showdown Fights: New Blood.

Barao has been on an incredible run after losing his first professional MMA fight, winning twenty five straight bouts including submission wins over Chris Cariaso and Anthony Leone after joining the WEC.
