Chael Sonnen Removed From Suspension List, Can Reapply For Licence In California

Former UFC middleweight title contender, Chael Sonnen is removed from the suspension list and can reapply for his licence in the state of California after he had an indefinite suspension out on him.

George Dodd, the California Commission’s executive officer said:

“He can be removed from the suspension list and he is able to re-apply to any agency or any commission. In California he would have to appear before the Commission before the Commission would license. I don’t know if Chael plans on reapplying. It would be up to that commission or licensing agency.”

“He’s back as far as he may be able to get licensed in other states. Whether he’s back is up to each individual organization to license him. I guess if he says he’s back he’s probably back into training, but I don’t know if he’s been licensed in any other state.”

“I’m pretty sure he’ll probably be able to get licensed in other states. That was his interpretation, I believe, of his contract with the UFC, and that was a big blow to him that he couldn’t do that at that time. But to say that he’s out of it, that was his interpretation, not ours.”
