Brian Foster forced out of UFC 129 bout vs. Sean Pierson after a scan reveals a brain haemorrhage

UFC welterweight prospect, Brian Foster has been forced to pull out of his UFC 129 bout with Sean Pierson after a pre-fight brain scan revealed a haemorrhage, something that could have had serious implications if he had been allowed to fight.

The news was confirmed via his Twitter page earlier today by his manager, Marc Fiore, who revealed that a blood vessel had been leaking in his brain leading to the condition. The severity of the haemorrhage is not known at this time. “A blood vessel broke open, started bleeding, and turned into a brain hemorrhage,” Fiore said of the injury. “Our doctor and the UFC doctor said they won’t clear him to fight.”

Foster will be forced to sit out of all activity over the next six weeks before returning to the doctors for further tests and planning his recovery. The bad news come on the heels of another serious injury from which Foster recently recovered. Fiore said the welterweight received a hard kick to the groin six weeks ago that caused one of his testicles to burst, and doctors were forced to remove it.
