Brazilian authorities release Maiquel Falcao after four days in jail, sentenced 18-month probation

UFC middleweight heavy hitter, Maiquel Falcao has today been released by Brazilian authorities after spending four days in jail in relation to a 2002 assault charge that his camp insists he had nothing to do with.

A report on MMAJunkie.com reveals a conversation with the Brazilian’s management team who confirmed their clients release.

Falcao was sentenced to a 24-month house arrest following the incident a night club in Brazil in which a woman was assaulted. Falcao was ordered to pay a fine and take part in community service. Eight months in the fighter moved home and was advised by the authorities to check in from his new location. Something his lawyer failed to pass on. He has since been considered a fugitive by the authorities.
