Brandon Vera vs. Thiago Silva promoted to the main card at UFC 125: Resolution

The UFC 125 light heavyweight bout between Brandon Vera and Thiago Silva has been promoted to the main card of the evening after a spate of injuries ended up removing the likes of Shane Carwin and Jose Aldo from the nights action.

Vera has hit a wall as of late first losing a close fight to Randy Couture via a controversial unanimous decision in the main event at UFC 105 and most recently losing to Jon Jones at UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones via TKO (Injury) due to an elbow by Jones, which broke Vera’s face in three places.

Silva has also been on the way down the ranks, losing two out of last three fights, first a knock-out loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 94 and most last time out a unanimous decision loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 108 in January. He was set to face Tim Boetsch at UFC 117 last month but an injury forced him to withdraw.
