Ben Askren Signs 6 Fight Deal With ONE FC

Former Bellator welterweight champion, Ben Askren announced today that he has signed a six-fight/two year deal with emerging Asian MMA promotion, ONE Fighting Championship, and he expects to make his debut sometime in early 2014.

Askren told Ariel Helwani that after his meeting with UFC officials he thought he might hang up his gloves. Initially he had thought they would come to terms but later in the evening he found out they were not interested. After talking to World Series of Fighting and ONE FC he felt like ONE FC would be an easy move to make.

Askren is undefeated at his mixed martial arts career at 12-0, competing under the Bellator MMA banner for his last nine fights inside the cage. He has competed twice in 2013, defeating Karl Amoussou and Andrey Koreshkov.
