Bellator FC Heavyweight Champion, Cole Konrad Retires From Mixed Martial Arts

Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad has retired from MMA, according to a report by Konrad (9-0) last defended his title this past March, submitting Eric Prindle.

Konrad, 28 years old, is a former two-time NCAA wrestling champion at the University of Minnesota. He debuted in MMA in 2010 and captured the Bellator heavyweight title by winning the inaugural tournament. He was a frequent training partner of Brock Lesnar with Team DeathClutch.

The report states that Konrad will become a financial trader at a Minnesota-based firm called North Central Trading that supplies ingredients to feed, pet food, food processing and chemical industries. He will specialize in trading milk products. It remains to be seen what Bellator does with the now vacant title.
