BAMMA Champ, Tom Watson and Undefeated, Jimi Manuwa UFC Bound

BAMMA champion, Tom Watson and undefeated light-heavyweight, Jimi Manuwa has joined the UFC. British middleweight, Watson was released from his BAMMA contract and allowed to answer the UFC’s offer, with his debut likely to take place on the card in Nottingham this September. UCMMA champion, Manuwa was offered a contract last year but declined at the time because he had been absent from fighting because of injury, now after the second ask, this time for September’s Nottingham card, he accepted. UFC Nottingham takes place September 29th from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.

Watson rides a three-fight win streak into the UFC with victories over Alex Reid, Murilo ‘Ninja’ Rua and Jack Marshman. He also holds victories over John Maguire and Matt Horwich. Watson, who has a professional record of 15-4, is based in England but is part of Greg Jackson’s team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Manuwa brings an 11-0 record and only two of his opponents have made it into the second round and ten have been Knocked-out, the other was caught in a guillotine. He signed a multi-fight deal with BAMMA last year but the organisation also agreed to release him from his contract in order to allow him to compete inside the octagon.
