Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Brendan Schaub in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Former UFC and PRIDE champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has revealed that he will be a part of the UFC’s return to Brazil, when they visit Rio de Janeiro later this summer. “Big Nog” will face fast rising prospect, Brendan Schaub on August 27th at UFC 134.

Nogueira, speaking during an appearance on Brazilian TV show “Globo Esporte”, said:

“The biggest MMA promotion in the world will be back in Brazil after 14 years and I’ll be there, steady and strong. Anderson Silva will fight in the main event [against Yushin Okami] and I’m looking forward to fighting in the co-main event.”

Nogueira hasn’t seen action since February 2010 when he was knocked out by current UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez in the first round. He was due to rematch Frank Mir but a series of hip problems forced him to withdraw. Schaub is coming off two massive wins over Gabriel Gonzaga and PRIDE open weight grand prix champion, Mirko Cro Cop.
