Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Injured, Cheick Kongo vs. Shawn Jordan at UFC 149

Former UFC and PRIDE heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira has been forced out of his UFC 149 bout with Cheick Kongo in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on July 21st and now former Strikeforce fighter Shawn Jordan will take his place. Nogueira hasn’t recovered properly from the broken arm he suffered at UFC 141 when he was submitted by Frank Mir in the co-main event of the evening.

Kongo lost last time out to Mark Hunt via first round TKO. Prior to that he defeated Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione to begin yet another run at the divisions title.

Jordan made his octagon debut at UFC on FX 2 picking up an impressive second round knockout win over Oli Thompson. Prior to that he went 1-1 in Strikeforce with a very notable win over Lavar Johnson.
