UFC lightweight contender, Anthony Pettis is set to undergo minor surgery over the next couple of weeks, most likely on his elbow or knee, keeping him out of action until mid-late summer as he continues to fight for a shot at the title UFC lightweight title.

Pettis’ manager, Mike Roberts confirmed the news via UFC Tonight on FUEL TV.

Roberts explained that with no fight scheduled, Pettis had decided now was the right time to go under the knife. He’s coming off a very impressive first round head-kick knockout win over Joe Lauzon at UFC 144 in Saitama, Japan.
