Anthony Johnson Injured, Rick Story vs. Nate Marquardt at UFC on Versus 4

Rick Story isn’t wasting any time getting back into the cage, the UFC has announced that Story will take on Nate Marquardt in the main event at UFC on Versus 4 on June 26th. Story well step up for the injured Anthony Johnson, who suffered a rotator cuff contusion in his right shoulder during training. Johnson had only 20-30% mobility in the shoulder and was told that he’ll need two or three weeks off to recover.

Story is currently on a six-fight winning streak, having fought four times in 2010. The Marquardt fight will be his sixth fight in less than 18 months. Story called out former number one contender, Thiago Alves, who accepted the fight, which took place on May 28th at UFC 130. Story outstruck Alves in the first two rounds and outworked Alves with his grappling and ring control for the majority of the fight.

Marquardt is dropping down to 170 pounds after spending most of his career at middleweight, where he has had his share of ups and downs, losing to Chael Sonnen and Yushin Okami while defeating Rousimar Palhares and Dan Miller. His hope that his size advantage over the welterweights will help him capture UFC gold.
