Anderson Silva wants GSP at welterweight, Dana White interested

UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva has gone on record saying he would love the test the water at welterweight and fight Georges St. Pierre inside the Octagon.

Silva, speaking to Yahoo!Sports.com, said:

“I’d like to test myself and I always love to take on new challenges. It’s not that I want to go fight Georges St. Pierre for his title. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s the reigning champion, the absolute champion, in that weight category. But I just want to test myself and see how I’d do at that weight.”

In a recent interview with MMA Fanhouse UFC President, Dana White says he’s interested:

“I’m blown away that he even said that, if it’s true, if he could cut down to 170 then I would look at a GSP fight, I would do it. I don’t like the idea of GSP moving up, but I’m interested in that if he could make 170”
