The much anticipated middleweight title rematch between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen has been moved to UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7th, 2012, after failing to secure the right kind of venue to host in Brazil.
UFC President, Dana White attended a press conference today in Brazil along with Silva and Sonnen and explained the promotion had encountered many problems when it came to making the fight happen and after failing to host the fight in a soccer stadium the only other option was to move it to Las Vegas.
The UFC 148 event was set to be headlined by the bantamweight title clash between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber but this is now expected to serve as the co-main event of the evening in perhaps the biggest event of the year. Wanderlei Silva vs. Vitor Belfort is expected to still headline UFC 147 somewhere in Brazil, although it was also mentioned featherweight champion, Jose Aldo could be moved to this card.
