Alistair Overeem vs. Todd Duffee official for DREAM Interim Heavyweight Title

Strikeforce and K-1 World Grand Prix champion, Alistair Overeem and former UFC prospect, Todd Duffee will now be contested for the DREAM interim heavyweight title tomorrow night at Dynamite!! 2010 in Japan.

Officials made the announcement earlier today to a packed press room, although the reasons why it will only be for an interim title remain unclear at this time, but speculation is the promotion will hold a grand prix next year sometime.

Overeem has recently captured the K-1 World Grand Prix title to add to his Strikeforce heavyweight title, becoming the first MMA champion to win the K-1 championship and hold both titles simultaneously and is something which has received mixed reactions from the fans.

Duffee made a spectacular octagon debut, knocking out Tim Hague in just seven seconds to put himself immediately on the radar. He reappeared seven months later to take on veteran, Mike Russow and after dominating for three rounds found himself knocked out in the center of the octagon. Duffee hasn’t been in action since he was cut from the UFC earlier this year due to his “bad attitude”.
