Alistair Overeem vs. Ben Edwards at K-1 WGP Final 16, Andrei Arlovski voted in?

Two fights were announced today for the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 16 on October 2nd in Seoul, South Korea, with Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem set to face Ben Edwards.

Edwards will be a good test for Overeem after tearing through Oceania’s Grand Prix earlier this year, scoring three first round knockouts to qualify for this stage. As well, K-1 legend, Jerome Le Banner was draw to face current K-1 heavyweight champion, Keijiro “Kyotaro” Maeda.

Another interest piece of news is that a fan vote is underway to determine six wild-card slots for the final 16, with K-1 President, Sadaharu Tanigawa remarking how surprised he was at the number of votes former UFC heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski had received.
