Alexandre Ferreira cut from Chute Boxe, fight with Palhares cancelled, David Branch named as replacement

Brazilian middleweight, Alexandre Ferreira has not only been cut by the world renown Chute Boxe team but has now been forced to withdraw from his UFC on Versus 3 fight with Rousimar Palhares. “Cacareco” told the UFC he has lost friends and family in the floods affecting Brazil in the last couple of days and is currently in “no condition to train or fight”. Renzo Gracie trained, David Branch will be the man to replace Alexandre Ferreira going head-to-head with Brazilian submission specialist, Rousimar Palhares on the main card of the evening.

Chute Boxe founder, Rudimar Fedrigo, speaking to Fighters Only Magazine, said:

“The athlete has been released from the Chute Boxe team. We wish Cacareco good luck in his career, which still involve the UFC. It was his disinterest for the team and lack of commitment. He made clear that he wants to follow the career with his own path and accordingly, I cannot get to talk to him for days at a time.”

“He will hear from the release on the Internet. Maybe what happens is that the fighter couldn’t adapt himself. Sometimes a person doesn’t get used to the locality – perhaps he wasn’t feeling as well as he would like”
