After thirteen years, Rio de Janeiro set to host UFC event in August, 2011

The UFC will head back to Brazil for the first time in thirteen years in August of next year when they host an event in Rio de Janeiro at the HSBC Arena.

According to a report by Tatame Magazine, a source close to the situation revealed the news, with confirmation set to come next Wednesday when UFC promoters Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta host a press conference in Rio.

The two men will stand side-by-side with current champions, Anderson Silva, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and a host of other fighters from the South American country to make this historic announcement.
