Former UFC middleweight title contender, Patrick Cote has been granted his wish and will return to the octagon to face former Strikeforce champion, Cung Le at UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7th. Multiple sources close to the situation revealed that verbal agreements are in place on both sides.
Cote makes his UFC return riding high on a four-fight winning streak which includes wins over three former UFC fighters, Kalib Stares, Todd Brown and Crafton Wallace. His most recent win was a first round stoppage over Gustavo Machado in Brazil.
Le, who’s professional record stands at 7-2, made his octagon debut last November losing out to former PRIDE champion, Wanderlei Silva. Le looked very sharp in the first round but quickly faded in the second where he was eventually TKO’ed.
