UFC middleweight contender, Michael Bisping will face powerhouse, Tim Boetsch and top-rated Brazilian, Renan Barao takes on bantamweight contender, Jeff Hougland at UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7th, 2012. The news was announced by the Las Vegas based promotion.
Bisping seen his four fight winning streak come to an end losing a very close decision to the current number one contender, Chael Sonnen. Prior to that he defeated the likes of Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Dan Miller and Yoshihiro Akiyama. Boetsch was last seen losing the first two rounds to Yushin Okami only to come back and win via TKO. He is now 3-0 as a middleweight since dropping from 205 pounds.
Barao could be the next challenger for the bantamweight title, since making his UFC debut, he has defeated the likes of Brad Pickett via submission and Scott Jorgensen via decision. Hougland is on a nine-fight winning streak which dates back to 2005. His most recent win was over Donny Walker in his octagon debut at UFC 132 last July.
