UFC News on Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones, Dana White, More

  • New UFC female bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will not require surgery for her injured right hand, according to a report by MMA Fighting.
  • UFC announced an FS1 Fight Night show in Hidalgo, TX, on Saturday September 17th. There will be a UFC event every Saturday night in September.
  • Wilson Reis, who was originally scheduled to face flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson in a title fight at UFC 201 in Atlanta, will now face Sean Santella. That match is happening despite Louis Smolka calling him out during the Sioux Falls show and asking for it to be an interim title fight.
  • Jon Jones’ NSAC hearing for an extension of temporary suspension is set for July 18. Jones could be looking at a possible 2 year suspension.
  • Rashad Evans questions Jon Jones’ legacy after his USADA test failure in this interview with FoxSports.com.
  • Brock Lesnar is still under a UFC deal, and therefore will continue to be drug tested by the USADA as a part of UFC’s anti-doping policy. USADA spokesperson Ryan Madden confirmed that Lesnar will continue to be tested until he informs them that he is retired from UFC competition.
  • Dana White is scheduled to speak on behalf of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention
