Robbie Lawler on Conor McGregor: “I would have taken his soul”

In a UFC 201 media appearance with WSB-TV 2 in host city Atlanta, Robbie Lawler explains why the Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz bout wouldn’t have ended well for the UFC Featherweight Champion if he had been Conor’s opponent:

“I wasn’t too worried about it,” Lawler said. “Obviously, that was a big fight. He’s a big draw, but it wouldn’t have been good for him.”
“How so?” Klein asked.
“‘Because if I hurt him, I wasn’t taking his neck,” Lawler said.
“What were you going to take?” Klein asked.
“His soul,” Lawler said. “I’m a lot different than most people. He found a way out and (Nate) Diaz took his neck and was nice to him.”
