Anderson Silva’s Out Competition Drug Test Comes Back Clean

Anderson Silva’s second out-of-competition drug test results are back and he is clean.

As of the test taken on January 19th, Silva did not have any banned substances in his system. The records were obtained from the Nevada Athletic Commission on Monday. The UFC 183 headliner passed an HGH kit and a regular examination on that date.

This after he tested positive for anabolic steroid metabolites in a drug screening on or around Jan. 9. Silva was found to have drostanolone and androstane in his system. He is temporarily suspended and facing discipline from the NAC at a hearing in either March or April.

Sources from the NAC are still unsure if this will effect his penalties or not. Heres what was said:

“I can’t speak for the chairman or be presumptuous in any way or comment on that, It’s not my position. We’re happy to get these results,”

Dr. Ali Mohamadi, an endocrinologist, said that drostanolone can be detected in the system as long as two months after being taken. Silva defeated Nick Diaz at UFC 183 on Jan. 31 by unanimous decision but the result may be overturned.
