Fabricio Werdum Medically Suspended For Up To 6 Months

Newly crowned UFC heavyweight champion, Fabricio Werdum was given a potentially six month long medical suspension after UFC 188 in Mexico City this past weekend.

Every fighter on the card received a seven day term on the shelf. The rest of the suspensions are as follows:

Fabricio Werbum: Suspended 180 days unless cleared by an MRI of right knee and right thumb, and a nasal x-ray

Cain Velasquez: Left upper eyelid and right eyebrow lacerations; Suspended 45 days no fight, 30 days no contact

Eddie Alvarez: Suspended 180 days unless cleared by Ophthalmologist

Gilbert Melendez: Suspended 30 days no fight, 21 days no contact

Henry Cejudo: Nasal laceration; Suspended 30 days no fight, 21 days no contact

Alejandro Perez: Left infraorbital laceration; Suspended 30 days no fight, 21 days no contact

Francisco Trevino: Suspended 180 days unless cleared right knee by Orthopedist

Gabriel Benitez: Suspended 180 days unless cleared right wrist/knee and left thumb/foot by Orthopedist

Clay Collard: Upper lip laceration; Suspended 45 days no fight, 30 days no contact
