Tyrone Spong Making His MMA Return At WSOF 22

“The King of the Ring” Tyrone Spong is making his return to MMA at World Series of Fighting 22 on Aug. 1 in Vegas, WSOF executive vice president Ali Abdel-Aziz announced the news on Tuesday. While his opponent has yet to be announced, it will be his first time competing for WSOF since August 2013.

Spong is most known for being one of the best kickboxers in the world. He won his first two pro boxing matches just this March. He has been recovering from a broken leg he injured during a GLORY fight with Gokhan Saki in April 2014.

WSOF 22 is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Rousimar Palhares and Jake Shields. Also on the card will be a bantamweight title matchup between champion Marlon Moraes and Sheymon Moraes (no relation). The event will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.
