Tyron Woodley Targeting Late July Return

UFC welterweight, Tyron Woodley revealed this week that he is hoping to return to the octagon in late July after being out of action for the past few months due to injury, but if he were to get a shot against Johny Hendricks he’s would be happy to speed up his recovery.

Woodley, speaking via sources said:

“Johny knows I respect him. He respects me. We talked about this at (UFC 167). He said, ‘You’re coming for me next.’ I’m not really coming for anybody. I’m coming for the world title. A lot of guys want a title shot. I don’t want a title shot – I want an opportunity to prove I’m the best fighter in the world, and I believe I am. I believe I’m the strongest, I believe I’m the fastest. I believe I’m well-rounded. I don’t know what he has in his future. It’s not that I’m calling him out or don’t like him – he might be the person who gets me to the title shot, that’s all.”

“I told the UFC late July, early August. But if you make me a fight that makes sense, I’ll get back by UFC 189. I haven’t heard yes, I haven’t heard no. So we’ll see what happens.”
