Former&Current Fighters Looking To Launch Lawsuit Against The UFC

After months of rumors about a class-action lawsuit against the UFC, Bloody Elbow reporters John Nash and Brent Brookhouse have confirmed through multiple sources that the lawsuit will be filed imminently.

An announcement will be made at a press conference Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

Nash and Brookhouse have been told the names of several potential signatories but are unable to confirm the names that will appear on the complaint, according to the report. The recent Reebok sponsorship deal with the UFC appears to be lumped into the suit and has resulted in some strategic changes.

One manager referred to the pending suit as “a game changer.”

According to sources for Nash and Brookhouse, the fighters will be represented by “three or four large firms renowned for antitrust litigation.” The firms have won major class-action antitrust cases in the banking, credit, technology and pharmaceutical industries.

“These are major players. These are not people (the UFC) will be able to out-spend,” one fighter is quoted as saying.
