Dana White Says Jon Jones Wants To Fight Daniel Cormier Next

Jon Jones doesn’t want more money from the UFC, what he wants is a different opponent. UFC president Dana White told sources on Monday that Jones is looking to defend his light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier next instead of Alexander Gustafsson.

The UFC already has a date and venue for a potential Jones-Gustafsson rematch — Aug. 30 in Las Vegas — and White said before UFC Fight Night in Berlin that he wasn’t pleased that Jones hadn’t signed the fight agreement yet.

Heres what Dana White had to say regarding the matter:

“People think we’re in contract negotiations with Jon Jones — we’re not, Jon Jones still has five fights left on his contract. So what we’re doing right now is trying to get him to sign the bout agreement for Gustafsson. He doesn’t want to fight Gustafsson. We’re going to walk him through why it makes sense to fight Alexander Gustafsson and we’re going to make an offer to extend his contract,”
