Chael Sonnen vs. Wanderlei Silva Pushed Back To Fight Night Brazil Event

It was revealed today that the highly anticipated face off between rivals Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva has been moved off UFC 173 card and will now take place during a Fight Night event in Brazil one week later.

UFC officials announced today that the fight will now take place at the May 31st event in Brazil. The show, likely to be part of the UFC Fight Night series, doesn’t have a venue or host city as of right now. However, those details, as well as broadcast plans, are expected shortly.

Sonnen hasn’t competed at 185 pounds since he lost to Anderson Silva via second round TKO back in July 2012.
Silva has gone 3-2 in his last five fights inside the octagon, defeating Michael Bisping, Cung Le and Brian Stann, whilst losing to Chris Leben and Rich Franklin.
