Carlos Condit Hopes To Return In Early 2015

Carlos Condit suffered from a torn ACL and partially torn meniscus during the second round of his welterweight face off against Tyron Woodley at UFC 171. After having surgery to repair his knee, Condit is now in the process of rehabilitation which has been going well.

The former UFC interim welterweight champion said it will be a slow process but he expects to be back in the ring early into 2015. Heres what he had to say regarding the matter:

“I’m feeling pretty good. It’s coming along, it’s slow going, but I’m getting there. I’m probably not going to be fighting again until early next year. Right now I’m not even allowed to run, let alone hit pads or grappling or anything like that. So I got a little ways. I’m still in the gym five days a week with physical therapy, which is very involved, it’s some of the hardest workouts that I’ve done. Also, working my upper body, doing what I can to stay fit. I can’t fall off too much. W. He won the fight, I’m not going to take that away from him, but I did get injured. I don’t know. He took me down, that caused the injury. But I get taken down all the time and I’m not always blowing my knees out, so… Honestly, I think it’s Lawler. He looked great in his last fight. At this point, it’s hard to get better because we’re all really kind of at the top of our games and there are very incremental improvements, but he looks great.”
