Winner of Gray Maynard vs. T.J. Grant at UFC 160 Will Be New #1 Contender

UFC President, Dana White has revealed that the winner of Gray Maynard and T.J. Grant at UFC 160 will get the next crack at lightweight champion, Benson Henderson. D.W. revealed the news at the UFC on FOX 7 post-fight press conference. Maynard vs. Grant goes down in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25th.

Maynard hasn’t competed since last summer when he defeated Clay Guida at UFC on FX 4, before that he went to a draw and a loss to then lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. Maynard was suppose to face Joe Lauzon at UFC 155 in December, but a knee injury cause him to withdraw from the fight.

Grant has been on a roll since dropping to the lightweight division four fights ago, winning all four fights, which included Shane Roller, Carlo Prater, Evan Dunham, and most recently a dominant victory over former TUF stand-out, Matt Wiman at UFC on FOX 6.
