UFC Flyweight Champ, Demetrious Johnson Could Return at UFC on FOX 8

UFC flyweight champion, Demetrious Johnson is targeting a return to action at UFC on FOX 8 on July 27th in Seattle, Washington, after showing a very quick recovery from shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum earlier this year.

Johnson said that he has full range of motion in his surgically-repaired shoulder. His doctor recently cleared him to shadowbox, but he still can’t hit pads or mitts because that would put too much stress on his shoulder at the moment. The champ has also started other exercises such as squats and leg presses.

“Mighty Mouse” has been steamrolling the 125 pound division, defeating top contenders, Ian McCall, Joseph Benavidez and most recently, John Dodson. He also had a great run in at 135 pounds where he even earned a title shot. He was set to face John Moraga at the TUF 17 Finale this upcoming Saturday night before the above named injury ruled him out.
