UFC 164 – Chad Mendes vs. Clay Guida Possibly Fighting August 31st in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

A Chad Mendes and Clay Guida face off is apparently in the works for the UFC 164 card set for August 31st in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The news was revealed on UFC Tonight in on Tuesday morning, although the fight is a way off from being confirmed or signed off on.

Mendes has been on a roll since he didn’t defeat Jose Aldo for the title back at UFC 142, knocking out Cody McKenzie, Yaotzin Meza and Darren Elkins all in the very first round. He is arguably the number two fighter in the world at 145 pounds.

Guida debuted as a UFC featherweight in his last outing against Hatsu Hioki winning a controversial split decision. Many fans and pundits feel as thought Guida lost the fight, but the judges gave him the nod. Guida. It was his first win since suffering back-to-back losses in the UFC lightweight division.
