Renan Barao Out Of UFC 161, Main Event Now Rashad Evans vs. Dan Henderson

The UFC officially announced that bantamweight champion, Renan Barao was forced to pull out of the UFC 161 event set for June 15th in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he was due to face Eddie Wineland in the main fight of the evening, also releasing who will replace them in the night’s big fight.

The announcement was made via UFC’s Twitter page, adding the co-main event clash between former light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans and veteran Dan Henderson will now be bumped to the night’s main event.

Evans is on shaky ground following his last couple of performances inside the octagon, dropping back-to-back decisions to current title holder, Jon Jones and former PRIDE veteran, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. His last win was over Tito Ortiz earlier on in 2012.

Henderson will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing out to Lyoto Machida on the UFC 157 card in February, dropping a split decision on the night. Prior to that he’d won an epic five-round fight with former champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
