“Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira to Coach TUF: Brazil 3

It was revealed today that former UFC light heavyweight champion, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira are lined up to coach the third season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil”, just a few hours after their UFC 161 bout was called off due to injury.

Comments made by Rua’s agent, Lucas Pires, to SporTV, “Shogun” said he will face Nogueira as a coach on TUF Brasil 3 before going head to head in the Octagon. The two fought once before under the PRIDE banner in a fight that Rua won via decision. No dates have been realeased yet for the taping, airing, or the eventual match-up.

“Shogun” hasn’t fared too well inside the octagon of late considering his standing. Nogueira, a long-time PRIDE veteran, has recently started to put it together inside the octagon after a shaky start to his octagon career.
