Frank Mir Wants To Welcome Josh Barnett Back Into The UFC

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Frank Mir revealed this week that he’s interested in welcoming yet another former title holder in the form of Josh Barnett back to the octagon in the coming months, also stating that the fighters grappling background would also lead to his demise.

Mir, speaking via El Octagono said:

“I think that would be a phenomenal fight. I think that some of the fans have talked about it a lot on the Internet as far as who is the better catch wrestler. And I think that I would be more than happy to welcome him to the UFC and I think it would be a great fight. I think that he’s not afraid to grapple with me. Which I think would be one of his downfalls.”

Mir has had a difficult three-round decision loss at the hands of Daniel Cormier on a recent FOX card in San Jose, California. Barnett was also defeated by the powerhouse wrestler in the past, dropping a five-round decision and with it the Strikeforce heavyweight grand-prix crown.
