Former UFC Heavyweight Champ, Shane Carwin Officially Retires from MMA

Former UFC interim heavyweight champion, Shane Carwin has officially announced his retirement from the sport of mixed martial arts after an eight year career.

Carwin, posting via his Twitter account, said:

“Officially retired [today]. Thank you to my family, friends and fans! #dreambig GOD BLESS!!!”

Carwin began his mixed martial arts career winning twelve fights in a row all via first round stoppage and captured the UFC interim heavyweight title. His last two fights didn’t go as planned, losing to Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos.
