Cain Velasquez Is Not Suspended 6 Months, Commission Was Mistaken

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is doing good following his successful title defense against Junior dos Santos at UFC 166.

Following his most recent fight at UFC 166, the commission who oversaw the event released that Velasquez had been suspended for six months due having his jaw broken. The Velasquez camp responded pretty soon after with confusion, saying that the champ had not sustained any injury.

Earlier today, sources confirmed prior reports with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that clarified the situation. The commission claimed responsibility for the incorrect report, saying the release was an error in a statement that read:

“After review of the UFC 166 information it has been determined the Velasquez/dos Santos suspensions were posted incorrectly,”
