Anthony Pettis to Challenge Jose Aldo for the Featherweight Title on August 3rd

UFC President, Dana White has confirmed that featherweight champion, Jose Aldo will defend his strap against lightweight kicking machine, Anthony Pettis on August 3rd, a place for the event is yet to be determined.

White, speaking via USA Today, said:

“Two of the baddest dudes in the fight business are going to fight at 145 pounds. These guys are two of the most amazing, gravity-defying athletes in the sport. I am so pumped for this fight.”

Aldo is undefeated in 15 fights, as a matter of fact Aldo has only tasted defeat once in his eight year career, a submission loss to Luciano Azevedo is 2005. He has defeated the likes of Jonathan Brookins, Cub Swanson, Mike Brown, Urijah Faber, Manny Gamburyan, Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian, Chad Mendes and most recently a close unanimous decision win over former 155 pound champion, Frankie Edgar at UFC 156. Pettis bounced back from a defeat in his octagon debut to Clay Guilda last June when he picked up back-to-back-to-back wins over Jeremy Stephens, Joe Lauzon, and most recently a knockout win over Donald Cerrone in the very first round at UFC on FOX 6 in January.
