UFC 145 in Montreal, Quebec Postponed Due to Scheduling Complications

UFC 145 that was set to be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on March 24th, 2012 has been postponed. The promotion still plans to return to Montreal in 2012, but as of the time for a new date that is to be determined. Several fights had already been rumored for the UFC 145 fight card. Those bouts will now, according to UFC officials, be pushed back to the following pay-per-view event in Atlanta or placed on other fight cards.

White, speaking via MMAJunkie, said:

“We’re still doing Montreal. We’re just not going to do it when we were originally planning to. We tried to get an April date in Montreal, and we can’t get it. We’re working on it. We’re still working on it. We’re still trying to bounce around and figure out what fights are going where and what we want to do. It’s still a work in progress.”

Tom Wright, UFC’s Director of Canadian Operations, speaking to the Canadian Press that the promotion wanted a “Championship-caliber” card for Montreal:

“In the end it was all about making sure that we had a championship-caliber card for a championship-caliber city. It’s a complicated process. Montreal has always been a great UFC city for us. Bell Centre is one of our best venues across the whole UFC circuit” states Wright.
